With the invention of LED, traditional lighting which uses halogen lamp is replaced because LED can consume low power but still has a bright light.
LED stage light also comes in many different types. The first type is PAR cans, which is used in a place of a PAR lamp. The advantage of using this type of LED is they can change color of the light without having to change the gel easily. In other words, they don’t have to spend more money. The first advantage LED has is its friendly-environment compared to other conventional lamps. It is because it uses less power but still offers bright light. The second advantage, LEDs have several variety of colors like blue, green, and red. It can also be adjusted based on the intensity of each LED to set the output of the lighting. Another merit from this lighting is it can be controlled by DMX as it does not require more dimmers. Because of its low power, LEDs can use only one power supply.
Despite having some advantages, LEDs also bring its disadvantages. As stated before, LEDs have more than one color and it can be set based on the intensity of each of them but it also leads to the disadvantage which is LEDs cannot produce a hard edged beam. Usually, it is needed for beam effects. The mix of some colors produces some edges to the shadows in which the colors are showing. This shadows are most a soft-edge ones.
